Three stacked fourths with a major third on top, so the chord has no clear major or minor third over its bass and floats rather than resolves. Bill Evans and the horns play it, and the same shape a step lower, as the two-chord answer to the bass line in Miles Davis's So What (1959). On guitar the shape falls naturally under the fingers, because it matches the way the lower five strings are tuned.
