The fourth chord of the G, B, C, C minor loop that repeats through the whole song, just before the loop returns to G
A plain C minor chord that follows C major in a G major song. Changing only one note, E down to E♭, borrows the chord from G minor and turns the bright C sour, which is why the loop sounds bittersweet. In Creep it is played as an E-shape barre at the 8th fret, the same grip as the C before it with one finger lifted.
